Made in the Arctic

Made in the Arctic aims to connect expedition cruise tourism with locally made Arctic products to strengthen local value creation and enhance guest experiences.

Established by AECO, the initiative helps cruise operators and their guests discover genuine Arctic products in collaboration with local businesses, while supporting local employment. Local suppliers and shops are invited to register and present their products to operators and travellers alike.

In the first phase, participation focuses on categories such as handcrafts, food and beverages, souvenirs, and cosmetics from locally owned businesses. Over time, more categories may be added.

The goal is to create a platform that gives cruise operators easy access to authentic Arctic suppliers, while ensuring that tourism contributes positively to local communities and offers travellers a genuine connection to the region.
