AECO Appoints First Ambassadors for Responsible Arctic Tourism

AECO has appointed its first group of ambassadors, marking an important step in strengthening outreach and advocacy for responsible expedition cruise tourism in the Arctic.

The five newly appointed ambassadors are part of a dedicated network of professionals who have completed tailored training and assessment to represent the associations mission, values, guidelines, and standards.

Acting as trusted representatives, they will contribute to raising awareness, supporting informed dialogue, and promoting best practices for environmentally responsible, safe, and community-conscious tourism across the Arctic.

“We are honored and proud to welcome our first group of AECO Ambassadors. Their commitment, experience, and engagement strengthen our ability to extend our voice, and to promote responsible practices across the Arctic.”

Frigg Jørgensen, executive director

The ambassador program extends AECO’s presence across the Arctic and beyond by bringing together professionals with diverse expertise and strong engagement in expedition cruise operations.

Through contributions in industry forums, events, and professional networks, the ambassadors will strengthen the understanding of AECO’s work and promote high standards for responsible Arctic tourism.
