Decision on Greenland Tourism Act Postponed

The final decision on proposed amendments to Greenland’s Tourism Act has been postponed until the autumn parliamentary session. The proposal has been referred to the Business and Mineral Committee for further review, meaning that any changes are unlikely to take effect before the 2027 season.

For AECO members, the most significant proposed amendments are:

  • A clarification of the possibility of obtaining exemptions from licensing requirements in areas with limited tourism infrastructure (§11a).
  • The introduction of an 18-month implementation period for new zoning regulations following their official publication (§15).
