Polar Bears International (PBI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to polar bear conservation through research, education, and community engagement. PBI works to protect polar bears and their Arctic habitat, providing resources and support to guides, researchers, and local communities to raise awareness and promote sustainable practices.
This webinar for guides will explore the critical role of guides in polar bear conservation, the research behind conservation efforts in Svalbard, and how guides can foster nuanced conversations about sensitive topics Participants will also get an introduction to a comprehensive handbook developed to assist guides, with a special focus on providing tools for discussing climate change and other polar bear-related issues. Finally, there will be an opportunity to engage directly with a polar bear researcher during the Q&A session.
