Experienced guides can apply for Svalbard guide approval
From November 13, 2026, experienced guides can apply for approval as Svalbard guides through a temporary transitional arrangement.
Guides who have completed at least 1,500 hours of guiding in the past three years may be eligible for an exemption from the standard course and training requirements.
Applications must be submitted by January 1, 2027, and the application fee is NOK 2,000.
