Membership Committee

1. Consider and prepare recommendations on provisional and associate membership applications for the Membership’s review and endorsement.
2. Provide advisory support to the Secretariat regarding Associate membership applications, offering insights into the potential benefits and implications for AECO’s broader membership network.
3. Offer advice to the Executive Committee (EC) and Secretariat on strategies to enhance and streamline the membership application processes.
4. Conduct regular reviews of membership categories and application processes, ensuring that they are aligned with the evolving landscape of AECO and Arctic tourism.
5. Respond to specific membership-related inquiries or tasks assigned by the EC, Secretariat, or the general Membership.
6. Assist the Secretariat in situations where additional input or assistance is required.
7. Evaluate and provide recommendations on the AECO Observer Scheme to ensure alignment with AECO’s mission and objectives.
8. Evaluate and recommend membership status changes, e.g. the shift from provisional- to full member based on Observation voyage.

1. The committee will comprise no less than three (3) and no more than seven (7) members, all of whom must be Full Members.
2. Members of the Membership Committee cannot concurrently be members of the Executive Committee or the Compliance and Dispute Resolution Committee.

The Membership Committee processes membership applications, reviews observations of Provisional members, and makes recommendations for their membership.
