New Administrative Officer Joins the Secretariat

Ingrid Nyhus Burkow joined the Secretariat on June 10 in a temporary position to help with administrative coordination and office operations.
Can you tell us a bit about your background?
I have a background in coordination and administration, most recently from a large IT organization. My experience mainly involves day-to-day office operations, planning, administrative processes, and logistics required in organizations. In addition, my academic background in healthcare has given me valuable experience and a strong commitment to supporting others, which I bring into my professional work.
What drew you to this role and to AECO?
I was drawn to AECO because of its important mission and focus on responsible activity in the Arctic, which I find both motivating and relevant. It felt like a great opportunity to apply my experience in administration and coordination in a meaningful setting.
What are you most excited about as you get started?
To learn more about the industry and to contribute to a team with an important purpose. I’m also really looking forward to getting to know both colleagues and AECO members and gaining a better understanding of their work and perspectives.
