Norwegian national guideline on infection control measures for expedition cruises released

Norway has issued a national guideline on infection control measures for expedition cruises, developed by Standard Norge in collaboration with AECO. The standard is part of a COVID-19 industry standards framework put in place and funded by the Norwegian Directorate of Health. The standard has been reviewed by the Directorate of Health. The guidelines builds on AECO’s previous work on the infection control guidelines for cruising in Svalbard and the work of the Clean Ships Healthy People Working Group.  AECO is pleased that the association’s extensive work on COVID-19 infection control measures has been recognized and elevated to an official national industry standard by Standard Norway and the Norwegian Directorate of Health.  This guideline will be a tool used to ensure safe reopening of Arctic expedition cruising.
