Cruise Ready
Helps Arctic communities get ready for cruise visits.
About
Cruise Ready helps towns and cities prepare for expedition cruise visits by providing essential information to improve the experience for locals, passengers, and operators. The pilot project was developed in partnership with Visit Reykjanes and includes:
- A handbook with information on expedition cruise tourism.
- A workshop with local stakeholders.
- A checklist for preparing for cruise visits.
During the 2026 season, AECO took part in Cruise Readiness Training Week in Pond Inlet for the first time as a planning partner and on-the-ground participant.
Working alongside local authorities, community representatives, Parks Canada, the Government of Nunavut, and cruise operators, AECO contributed to a community-led process focused on preparedness, dialogue, and future cooperation.
