Made in the Arctic (MIA) aims to connect expedition cruise tourism with locally made Arctic products to strengthen local value creation and enhance guest experiences.
Established by AECO, the initiative helps cruise operators and their guests discover genuine Arctic products in collaboration with local businesses, while supporting local employment. Through this website, eligible local suppliers and shops are invited to register and present their Arctic-made products to operators and travellers alike.
In the first phase, participation focuses on categories such as handcrafts, food and beverages, souvenirs, and cosmetics from locally owned businesses. Over time, more categories may be added.
The goal is to create a platform that gives cruise operators easy access to authentic Arctic suppliers, while ensuring that tourism contributes positively to local communities and offers travellers a genuine connection to the region.
AECO is not responsible for the quality, delivery, or safety of listed products or services, nor does it endorse any suppliers. Made in the Arctic is an information platform established to support and promote value creation in Arctic communities.
