Valuable meeting with Greenlandic minister

The proposed Greenland tourism law will affect expedition cruise operations in Greenland. On Nov. 18, AECO therefor arranged for a dialogue-meeting between AECO members and Greenland’s Minister for Business, Trade, Mineral Resources, Justice, and Gender Equality on the implications of the proposal.

“The meeting provided valuable clarity on the intent behind the law. Our members had the opportunity to ask questions and the minister provided specific answers on how the law is expected to be implemented. The minister emphasized that the Government prefer expedition cruises as part of sustainable tourism development, a key focus in the new Greenland tourism strategy”, said AECO’s deputy director, Anders la Cour Vahl after the meeting.
