Cleanup for Sarah

Cleanup for Sarah began in 2019 in honor of AECO’s environmental agent, Sarah Auffret, and takes place annually around June 16, Sarah’s birthday.

Sarah was a driving force behind AECO’s Clean Seas program, working to remove plastic waste from the Arctic and reduce plastic use on Arctic cruise vessels.

Through this event, AECO encourages everyone to rally together to clean up plastic litter in your outdoor environment.

Whether it’s a community clean-up, a staff social event, or an opportunity for cruise ships to educate passengers, it’s a chance to raise awareness about how plastic waste ends up in the ocean and what we can do to stop it.
