Clean Up Iceland

A Collaboration with Landowners and Authorities

A Project of Collaboration

In 2023, AECO identified Icelandic shorelines and obtained permissions from local authorities and landowners for members to do cleanups. Today there are eight different areas with beaches where members and their passengers can land and clean.

Clean Up Iceland is part of our Clean Seas Program, which aims to reduce marine pollution in the Arctic. An important part of the program is education, meaning our members combine cleanup efforts with education on marine litter, single-use plastics, and the consequences of plastic pollution.

Clean Up Iceland is a collaboration between AECO and Gara, the Blue Army, Terra, Cruise Iceland, the Environmental Agency of Iceland, and Ocean Missions.
